Christ Church United Methodist

A Reconciling Congregation

Christ Church is a United Methodist congregation in central Denver. Our faith community takes seriously both the heart and the mind as we nurture the spirit of God. You will find a community striving to be real: combining intellectual questions along with heart-felt experiences to seek wholeness in living. We believe you will be welcomed, loved, and embraced in authentic and vulnerable ways. We believe there is a unique place to find hope in the midst of a dark, chaotic, and challenging world -  at the corner of 7th and Colorado.

Our hope is that you will find here a Christian community of integrity that will challenge you and encourage you in your spiritual journey. We invite you to be part of the community we call church.

Even in Awkward Families God Shows Up

Even though your family of origin or choice might be awkward, embarrassing, or even frightening, there is a light that burns bright to remind us of the Messiah coming to our lives. Come celebrate Advent in a more relaxed way, appreciating the awkwardness of your church family. You are encouraged to join the staff and wear awkward Christmas sweaters as we celebrate with a more relaxed Advent. You can get a copy of the Advent brochure with all the activities at the Greeter stand on Sunday mornings, click on the Seasonal Brochure link above, or email the church office for a pdf copy.

UMW is sponsoring this effort but it takes all of us to fill the tree! Donations will be accepted this Sunday through Christmas.

Special Giving Opportunities

This Advent you are invited to give extra; even $5 per Sunday has an impact. As we near the end of the year we ask that you maintain your pledge, but, as you are able, support these organizations and work in the world.

December 11th - United Methodist Student Day, This gift will go to supplement and support our Iliff Intern's expenses.

December 18th - Rainbow Alley

December 24th - 100% of the offering on Christmas Eve will go to support the Delores Project

Christmas Eve at Christ Church

We are offering three worship opportunities on Christmas Eve. Have a little one who might need to move around during worship then head to bed early? Join our 5:00pm Wiggle-Friendly service in the Fellowship Hall. We are offering two identical traditional candlelight and communion services at 7:00 and 9:00pm in the Sanctuary featuring our Chancel Choir and a string quartet performing music composed by Larry Brown. Please invite your family and friends!

We will be offering coffee, cookies, and hot chocolate at all three services. If you are able to help provide cookies, either home made or store-bought, please contact Bobbie Quinn at

Christmas Morning at Christ Church

There will be no education classes on Christmas morning, but we will have worship at 10:15am: Awkward Christmas Morning - unexpected guests. Children are invited to bring a toy to church to reflect upon their blessings. Recognizing that people might have other plans for Christmas Day, we won't have a regular Fellowship Hour after worship, but will offer coffee and leftover cookies from the night before.
