Christ Church United Methodist

A Reconciling Congregation

Contact Us:    303-322-0784

Office Hours:     Monday - Friday - 9:00am - 1:00pm

Christ Church is a United Methodist congregation in central Denver. Our faith community takes seriously both the heart and the mind as we nurture the spirit of God. You will find a community striving to be real: combining intellectual questions along with heart-felt experiences to seek wholeness in living. We believe you will be welcomed, loved, and embraced in authentic and vulnerable ways. We believe there is a unique place to find hope in the midst of a dark, chaotic, and challenging world -  at the corner of 7th and Colorado.

Our hope is that you will find here a Christian community of integrity that will challenge you and encourage you in your spiritual journey. We invite you to be part of the community we call church.

Worship Worksheets and Prayerful Playmates

There are someoptions for the younger members of our community to assist with their experience in the worship service. For our youngest children, parents are welcome to encourage children to find a "Prayerful Playmates" bag to fill with items from our Children's Library. In the Children's Library (just outside the sanctuary on the north end of the narthex), you can grab crayons or colored pencils, books, small activities, and various coloring sheets.

For our older children and young youth, there are Worship Worksheets. These relate to the worship theme and have different activities to assist children and youth in fully engaging the worship experience. Watch for them at the Welcome Center in the Children's Library or from Rev. Megan.

(ccumdenver) too. If you have photos from CCUM activities in past years like weddings, baptisms, your children in children's programs or similar that you would like to see used as a Throw Back Thursday post please send it to

CEB Bibles

As Rev. Eric mentioned last spring in an Epistle, we have changed to the Common English Version of the Bible. This shift happened along with the change in the UMC. If you would like to purchase a copy of the CEB Bible, we will be placing an order for the Student Version on October 1. This is the Youth/Young Adult version although the text is the same as the adult copy. In the Student Version, you can find a published devotional prayer by our own Elizabeth Blackmun. The Bibles are $22 each. Please contact Rev. Megan if you are interested.

Seasons are changing... here's what's happening

Want to know what is happening in September, October and November? Check out our brochure here! It has information about our community activities, the worship series for the fall, our justice events, all our education classes, and the new finance and pledge events. Hard copies of the brochure are available at church. Ready to sign up for some of the events? Please fill out and return the slip from the hard copy, or you can download this Sign Up Slip and return it on Sunday.

GEO Detention Center Prayer Vigil

Join us at the GEO Detention Center in Aurora at 6pm Monday, October 2nd, for a prayer vigil supporting those incarcerated by ICE. This prayer vigil is a visible and spiritual reminder that we stand with those who face unjust laws. Please contact Rev. Eric if you have questions

Disaster Relief

As Harvey continues to wreak havoc along the Gulf Coast and wildfires continue to burn in Montana, the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is already at work. UMCOR is known around the world for its recovery response and is often the last organization to leave an area. One hundred percent of donations to UMCOR go to direct aid. Please consider giving to UMCOR or follow the link to the Yellowstone Conference and designate your gift to "Yellowstone Conference Disaster Relief".
